I have had to kill the power at the breaker box multiple times just to get the system to respond. I am in the spa and tried to shut off the spa and everything, but it decided to turn ON the pool and will not respond when I turn the pool off. Two days ago I woke up to the system engaging one of my valves and not the other, thus draining my spa and continually trying to run the pump with no more water. The system will often turn on one cycle when instructed to turn off another. Three years ago I had my pool professionally remodeled with all new equipment, lines, and the pentair system. Pentair makes a great product, I have been told. I have not written a review before, but as I sit in my spa I find myself compelled to let others know about how atrocious this system is. PS- I have sent this feedback thru other channels, but the answers that always come back are illogical. Please add back the ability to deselect all run days -or- add a method to have active/inactive schedules. So Pentair these use cases shouldn’t be hard to understand. I used to do this by selecting/deselecting all days on a 24 hour schedule. (Freeze protect shuts off heat and circulates water only, I don’t want heat shut off.) Because of this i have to shift to a 24 hours run schedule in sub-freezing weather. I choose to completely disable Freeze Protection because of how it works.
Next spring enable run days again.ģ) In the winter, my pool is closed, my spa is still running and used daily. I used to be able to disable the pool schedules by removing all run days. No longer true.Ģ) at winter closing, my spa remains running. In prior versions of ScreenLogic, I could simply deselect All days from the schedule to deselect the schedule while waiting for parts. Valid use cases for removing all run days from a schedule:ġ) I had a broken pool cleaner for about 10 days this past summer. Pentair has chosen to remove the ability to deselect run days from a schedule.

You might think, just use the controller but that is not really practical unless you are adept at using 1980’s style LCD programming.Ĭonsidering how much these things cost it is absurd that they can’t make a controller and App appropriate to this century. What you see is absolutely not what you get. Worst part is the App won’t tell you that. Before you know it you can’t control all the functions using the App or even the controller for that matter. Then if you set two times of the day for one function that also counts as 2 of the 12. Pretty much every function needs a time-out otherwise it will stay on indefinitely. If you set a timeout for any function (eg turn spa off after 30 mins) those count toward the 12. You might think 12 is a lot but it’s not. You have to understand the restrictions on the controller coz the App won’t tell you.
You can set schedules on the App but if you set more than 12 they never execute. To be fair though it not clear how much of the problem is the App and how much is the Pentair controller. For such a critical function of controlling your pool this app is terrible.
